
(Beijing, February 28) The women's -67kg and men's -80kg repechages and bronze-medal contests of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Taekwondo International Invitational Tournament concluded at the Beijing Science and Technology University Gymnasium this evening, with China's Guo Yunfei and Liu Jing shared the women's -67kg bronze medals and China's Zhu Guo and Puerto Rico's Juan Sanchez taking the men's -80kg bronzes.
In the women's -67kg repechage this afternoon, China's Guo Yunfei, after tying with Mexico's Edna Diaz at 5-5, was decided winner by superiority of all refereeing officials. In the other repechage between Hwang Kyung Seon of Korea and Li Na of China, Li Na won by withdrawal.
In the women's -67kg bronze decider, Guo Yunfei went on to edge Australia's Tina Morgan 5-4 for the medal. The other bronze went to China's Liu Jing after Li Na's withdrawal.
The men's -80kg repechage saw Canadian Sebastien Michaud beating China's Sun Yuheng 5-1. Sun's teammate Hu Shuangjiang won by withdrawal of Italy's Carlo Molfetta.
China's Zhu Guo, who had lost in the semifinal this afternoon, outscored teammate Hu Shuangjiang 3-1 to take the bronze. The other bronze belonged to Sebastien Michaud after his 4-2 win over Juan Sanchez.
