

(Beijing, February 28) Turk Ali Sari and Canadian Karine Sergerie claimed the golds in the men's -80kg and women's -67kg events tandem on the third day of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Taekwondo International Invitational Tournament this evening.
The men's -80kg final was held between Ali Sari and Egyptian Abdairhman Osama. The Turk led 1-0 after the first round and neither side scored in the second. Both fighters quickened their pace in the third as Sari seized the opportunity to score, winning 3-1.
China's Zhu Guo beat his teammate Hu Shuangjiang 3-1 to take the bronze. The other third place went to Canadian Sebastien Michaud, who gained a 4-2 win over Juan Sanchez of Puerto Rico.
On the women's side, China's Si Hui took on Canadian Karine Sergerie in the -67kg gold medal match. The score was close in the entire fight as Sergerie led only 1-0 after two rounds. In the third, the Canadian focused on her defense and Si failed to open scoring until the end. Sergerie took the gold with 1-0.
In the third place deciders, Guo Yunfei of China went on to edge Australia's Tina Morgan 5-4 to share the bronze medal with Liu Jing of China following Li Na's withdrawal.
