

(Beijing, February 29) The "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Taekwondo International Invitational Tournament concluded at the Beijing Science and Technology University Gymnasium this evening as host China finished with two golds, four silvers and ten bronzes in the four-day event. Turkey collected two golds with Canada earning one gold and two bronzes. Other golds were split by France, Tunisia and Spain respectively.
On the first day of the tournament, China's Wu Jingyu claimed the women's -49kg gold by beating Swedish Hanna Zajc 5-1 while Spaniard Joel Gonzalez snatched the men's -58kg title via a triumph over John Paul Lizardo of the Philippines.
Zhou Zhuohui of China and Charlotte Craig shared the bronze medal in the women's -49kg. China's Pei Guangqi placed third in the men's -58kg.
The women's -57kg gold went to China's Lei Jie, who obtained the title with a 1-0 triumph against her teammate Zhang Hua in the final.
Diana Lopez dropped out of the third place decider as China's Zheng Xiaolang got the bronze without competing. The other bronze went to Brazilian Debora Nunes.
The in-style Turk Servet Tazegul was crowned in the men's -68kg final with an 8-4 victory over Mexico's Erick Osornio. China's Zhu Shengpeng gained a bronze in the event.
On Day 3, Servet Tazegul's compatriot Ali Sari beat Egyptian Abdairhman Osama to win the men's -80kg final. China's Zhu Guo beat his teammate Hu Shuangjiang 3-1 to take the bronze.
In the women's -67kg gold medal match, China's Si Hui lost to Canadian Karine Sergerie 1-0, settling for second. Chinese Guo Yunfei and Liu Jing shared the bronze.
In the last day's competitions of the tournament, Frenchman Pascal Gentil and Tunisia's Khaoula Ben Hamza came to the throne in the men's +80kg and women's +67kg by beating their final rivals respectively. China collected one silver and two bronzes in the men's +80kg, in addition to one silver and one bronze in the women's +67kg.
